TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Article 1. Scope of Application

  1. Contracts for accommodation and related agreements (hereinafter collectively referred to as the 'Accommodation Contract') entered into between this ryokan (hereinafter referred to as the 'Ryokan') and the guest shall be governed by the provisions set forth herein. Any matters not stipulated herein shall be governed by applicable laws, regulations, and/or generally accepted customs

  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, in the event that the Ryokan has entered into a special agreement with the Guest, insofar as such special agreement does not contravene applicable laws, regulations, or generally accepted customs, such special agreement shall prevail.

Article 2. Refusal to Conclude Accommodation Agreements

The Ryokan reserves the right to refuse to enter into an Accommodation Contract in any of the following cases:

  1. When the application does not conform with the provisions of these Terms and Conditions;

  2. When all rooms are fully occupied and no vacancies are available;

  3. When the applicant is deemed likely to engage in conduct contrary to applicable laws, public order, or good morals;

  4. When the applicant is clearly identified as suffering from an infectious disease;

  5. When the Guest demands an unreasonable burden in relation to the accommodation;

  6. When the Ryokan is unable to accommodate the Guest due to reasons attributable to force majeure or other unavoidable circumstances;

  7. When the Guest is visibly intoxicated or engages in behavior that may cause significant nuisance to other Guests, or has previously caused material disturbance at the Ryokan.

Article 3. Application for Accommodation

  1. A person who intends to make an application for an Accommodation Contract shall provide the following information to the Ryokan:

    1. Name of the Guest(s);

    2. Date(s) of stay and expected time of arrival;

    3. Accommodation charges (based on the fee schedule specified in Appendix 1);

    4. Any other information deemed necessary by the Ryokan.

  2. In the event that the Guest, during their stay, requests an extension of the accommodation period, such request shall be treated as a new application at the time it is made.

Article 4. Conclusion of the Accommodation Contract

  1. The Accommodation Contract shall be deemed concluded when the Ryokan accepts the application set forth in the preceding article. However, the foregoing shall not apply where the Ryokan can demonstrate that it did not accept such application.

  2. Upon conclusion of the Accommodation Contract, the Guest shall pay a deposit, as separately specified by the Ryokan, equivalent to the basic accommodation charges for up to three days.

  3. In the event that the deposit stipulated in the preceding paragraph is not paid by the specified deadline, the Ryokan may treat the Accommodation Contract as having been terminated, provided that the Ryokan has notified the Guest of such condition in advance.

Article 5. Cancellation by the Guest

  1. The Guest may cancel the Accommodation Contract by notifying the Ryokan accordingly.

  2. In the event of cancellation by the Guest for reasons attributable to the Guest (excluding cases where the Ryokan has not specified a payment deadline for the deposit under Article 4.2), the Guest shall be liable for payment of cancellation fees as stipulated in Appendix 2.

  3. In the event that the Guest fails to appear by 8:00 PM on the scheduled day of arrival (or two hours after the designated arrival time if one has been communicated), the Ryokan may treat the Accommodation Contract as having been canceled by the Guest.

Article 6. Cancellation by the Ryokan

  1. The Ryokan may cancel the Accommodation Contract in the following circumstances:

    1. When the Guest is found to fall under any of the categories specified in Article 2, Items 3 through 7;

    2. When the Guest fails to comply with the rules of the Ryokan, including fire safety or public behavior;

    3. When the Guest engages in prohibited acts such as smoking in bed or tampering with fire protection equipment.

  2. In the event of cancellation under the preceding paragraph, the Ryokan shall not be liable for any compensation for services not yet rendered.

Article 7. Registration

Guests shall complete registration of the following items at the front desk on the day of arrival:

  1. Name, age, gender, address, and occupation;

  2. For foreign nationals, nationality, passport number, port of entry, and date of entry into Japan;

  3. Scheduled date and time of departure;

  4. Any other items required by the Ryokan.

Article 8. Service Hours

  1. Service hours for major facilities within the Ryokan shall be as follows. Additional details are provided in notices or in-room directories:

    1. Gift Shop: 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
    2. Café Corner: 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
    3. Club Ishi: 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
    4. Healing Space “Tensho”: 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (last entry 11:00 p.m.)
  2. The above service hours are subject to change under special circumstances, in which case the Ryokan shall notify Guests accordingly.

Article 9. Payment of Charges

  1. A breakdown of the accommodation charges is set forth in Appendix 1.

  2. Payment of charges shall be made in cash or by alternative means accepted by the Ryokan (e.g., credit cards or travel vouchers), at the time of check-out or upon request by the Ryokan.

  3. Charges shall apply even if the Guest voluntarily chooses not to utilize the accommodation after a room has been made available.

Article 10. Inability to Provide Contracted Accommodation

  1. If the Ryokan is unable to provide the contracted room, it shall, with the Guest’s consent, arrange alternative accommodation under the same or similar conditions.

  2. In the event that the Ryokan is unable to arrange alternative accommodation, it shall compensate the Guest with an amount equivalent to the cancellation charge. However, no compensation shall be provided if the inability to fulfill the contract is not attributable to the Ryokan.

Article 11. Custody of Baggage or Personal Effects

  1. If baggage is delivered to the Ryokan in advance of the Guest’s arrival, the Ryokan shall be responsible for its safekeeping only with prior agreement and shall return it upon the Guest’s check-in.

  2. In the event of forgotten or misplaced items, the Ryokan shall retain such items for a period of seven (7) days, after which they may be turned over to the nearest police station unless otherwise instructed by the Guest.

Article 12. Liability of the Ryokan

The Ryokan shall compensate the Guest for any damages incurred due to the Ryokan’s fulfillment or non-fulfillment of the Accommodation Contract, except where such damages are not attributable to the Ryokan.

Article 13. Custody of Valuables

  1. The Ryokan shall compensate the Guest for loss or damage to items deposited at the front desk unless caused by force majeure. However, if the value of such items was not disclosed in advance, liability shall be limited to ¥150,000.

  2. For items not deposited at the front desk, the Ryokan shall compensate only in cases of intentional or negligent acts, with the same limitation on compensation.

Article 14. Parking Liability

When Guests use the Ryokan’s parking facilities, the Ryokan shall not be responsible for the care or custody of vehicles. However, the Ryokan shall be liable for any damages resulting from willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 15. Guest’s Liability

The Guest shall compensate the Ryokan for any damages caused through intentional acts or negligence.

Appendix 1: Schedule of Charges
